The noodles are gone, and there is still soup in the bowl. Are you supposed to drink it?
Sūpu (スープ), the soup of a bowl of ramen.
Japanese table manners have no rule that says you must finish it, and leaving some is not considered rude. Some drink every drop because they do not want to waste what the cook worked hard on. Others leave it because it is salty and they are watching their health.
Both sides have their reasons, and neither is the one right answer.
In Japan, many of us decide quietly, depending on the bowl and on how we feel that day.

麺は食べ終えた。でも、どんぶりにはまだスープが残っている。飲むべきなのだろうか。
スープ。ラーメンのスープのこと。
日本の食事のマナーに、飲み干さなければならないという決まりはない。残しても失礼にはならない。店主が手間をかけたものだから残さず飲む、という人もいる。塩分が多いので、体を気にして残す人もいる。
どちらにも理由があり、どちらか一方が正解というわけではない。
日本では多くの人が、そのどんぶりとその日の気分で、黙って決めている。
